Together with Bronislav and his wife Elsa, we will explore China through qigong and meditation, conversations on philosophy, the taste of freshly brewed tea, and the breath of the mountains. Their work together is a living embodiment of yin and yang, experience and intuition, offering a view not only of the country’s outward face but also of the foundations on which Chinese society and worldview have rested for centuries.
We will spend this week at Mount Qingcheng, one of the oldest Taoist sites in China. On its sacred slopes still stand trees planted nearly two thousand years ago by Zhang Daoling, the founder of religious Taoism, while the tea grown here continues to carry the taste and fragrance of that ancient tradition.
Bronislav Vinogrodskiy is a sinologist, translator, writer, and musician, who has devoted more than half a century to studying Chinese culture, from its earliest texts to its spiritual and healing practices.
